Six months between posts…did I mention I have a baby?
I’ve become a total Hulu addict ever since I upgraded to Hulu Plus. I’m going to have to stop saying that “I don’t have a TV” considering the number of shows that I’m currently consuming (Revenge, Misfits, Glee, and Justified – the last one on iTunes). Yeah, it’s annoying watching commercials again but I can surf another page while they’re on and it beats paying for cable.
So I was interested in this interview with Hulu CEO Jason Kilar. I love how upbeat he is:
It’s just going to come down to who delivers the most value for consumers. And by the way, I think there’s going to be a number of winners. This is an immense, immense industry.
I think, really, inside he’s saying, “and by ‘winners’ I mean, I WILL CRUSH YOU NETFLIX AND COMCAST.” *evil laugh*
But I think Hulu really makes sense for the big networks. There will continue to be people who do appointment television so they can talk over the water cooler the next day. And then there are people like me who will happily pay $8/month to watch online whenever they have the time.
